Mger was born in Yerevan, Armenia on 13 November 1981. He can be called a musician in the third generation, his whole family received musical education. His father and mother met each other in an orchestra. His father was playing the clarinet and he also played an Armenian national instrument called “duduk”, his mother played an Armenian national instrument called “kanon”. As a child Mger was present at the rehearsals with his parents, as a result he developed an ear for music from an early age. Nevertheless Mger dreamed of becoming a physician, and when their family moved to Moscow in 1991 he went to the eleventh grade of high school in order to study in a medical academy for an obstetrician. However, at middle school Mger was awarded a prize at “Morning Star” contest in Strunino town in Vladimirskiy region. His parents' legacy had its effect and he eventually understood that he was born to be a musician. In 1998 Mger entered the vocal music department of the State Music School of variety-jazz. His vocal music tutor was Vladimir Khristophorovich Khachaturov. “This person played a very important role in my life. He wasn't just my teacher, he was like a father to me”. The first song was recorded with composer Yevgeniy Zagot and poet Mikhail Zagot. The song was called “Start All Over Again”. “I was lucky to get acquainted with wonderful talented people, the Zagots Dynasty, and I keep working with these people up till now”.
